Nail is made of a hard protein called keratin. I never think nail care could be an art before until I really know it from my friends. Giving a manicure, or manicuring as it is called professionally, was once considered only a luxury for the rich. More and more women and men now have regular manicures.
I am sure it is a progress compare with those people who were born in last century. Manicuring improves the appearance of the hands and nails. Giving manicure is not hard once you know the basic steps.
1. Remove the old polish. Moisten a cotton ball with nail polish remover.
2. Shaping the nail. The finger should be filed into oval tips.
3. Soften the cuticles. Soak the fingers into a small finger bowl filled with soapy water; and carefully dry the hand by holding a small towel.
4. Apply cuticle remover.
5. Apply cuticle oil or cream at the base of the nail.
6. Apply base coat using long strokes.
7. Apply lotion. Attn: nails need to be completely dry.
Say goodbye to dirty, bitten fingernails and give them a little TLC. This is just my experience about nail care; if you are an expert on it, feel free to share your experiences and tips here.
